short term individual
Age
Generally speaking, we don't allow anyone under 18 to be part of an individual trip. Estimated Cost
Cost will vary based on what type of project you desire to be involved in, where you're willing to stay, how much you eat local food and how much you eat out, etc. For instance, if its a medical project, the project supplies may be more expensive than if you choose ministry in the slums. Running a full children's camp will be more expensive than a light construction trip. In general, though, all in-country expenses including project expenses generally run between $500-$700 US dollars for a 10-15 day trip This is inclusive of all in country expenses. It does NOT include airfare, your VISA fee to enter the country ($50) and any pre-trip vaccinations you choose to get. An exact cost will be given to you when you complete the preliminary booking form for your trip. |
Length of Stay
Short Term Individuals generally stay anywhere from 10-15 days, including travel. Usually 10 is minimum since you lose about a day coming, plus a bit of a rest period for jet lag, and a day going, so that leaves 7 full days for ministry. Time of Year
Any time of year is a great time of year to take a trip to Uganda. The weather here is a constant 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit all year long, so even if it is the dead of winter in your hometown, its a nice temperature here. Airfare varies greatly throughout the year, however. Generally March/April and Sept/Oct are the cheapest times to travel. Winter is the second cheapest, and summer is the most expensive time to travel. Your specific airfare will depend on the airport you fly out of, the carrier you use, and the flight pattern you choose, but generally it will range between $1100 and $2,000. You can book this, or we can book your tickets for you for a truly all inclusive trip cost. |
